Mathias Strömberg (b. 1972, Stockholm) works across visual arts, sound, film and writing to examine the administrative machinery, politics and cultural identity that shaped and broke the Swedish welfare state – its registers, its numbers, its quiet myths. He studied art at Goldsmiths' College (London) 1992-1993 and earned a bachelor's degree in graphic design from Central Saint Martin's (London) in 1996. Since then he is balancing work as an independent artist, music creator, essayist, lecturer, film maker and creative gun-for-hire.
